Mike was a 3-sport captain in High School playing football, basketball, and baseball. Following High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps with artillery, however, suffered a knee injury that led to a medical separation. Following my time in the Marine Corps, I pursued a career as a paramedic for roughly 5 years while pursuing nursing school. After realizing the medical field was not for him, he was recruited to play football in college. He transferred to John Carroll University to play football and study exercise science. Following his junior year, Mike’s strength coach took him under his wing and got him a paid coaching job with the school for his senior year. Following JCU, he coached at various colleges including Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve University, and Baldwin Wallace University, as well as Norwalk High School, Perkins High School, and Avon High School. Mike has worked with a variety of sports including football, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, track & field, cross-country, lacrosse, golf, tennis, swim and dive, and wrestling. Additionally, he worked at a private performance facility heading up tactical training, partnering with the US Air Force Special Warfare recruiting and local police and fire departments. He also briefly took over as the director of the Olympic Weightlifting club. During Covid-19, Mike moved to North Dakota to stand up a strength and conditioning program for a school district. This program focused on 7-12 working on an LTAD program to prepare them for college sports while learning healthy life habits. While building this program, he also worked with the Bismarck Bucks IFL team, during their pre-season camp. Currently, Mike serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the U.S. Army’s H2F program, providing strength and conditioning expertise for all levels of command, classes, and seminars on various topics in exercise science, and heading up the weightlifting team. He is currently a competitive weightlifter having competed in the Arnold for the past 4 years, recently competing in the A session. I am also finishing my doctorate in kinesiology. He currently holds a CSCS, TSAC-F, EP-C (EIM2), USAW2, and Pn1 certifications.
