Grant Darnell is in his third year (2018-19) as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wayne State College, a D2 school in Nebraska. Darnell works with all 13 Wildcat athletic programs overseeing the athletic development for over 300 student athletes. Darnell comes to Wayne State after serving one year as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Kent State University in Ohio where he served as Head Strength Coach for Men's and Women's Track and Field and was the lead Assistant Strength Coach for Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball, Wrestling, Gymnastics and Golf and was an assistant with the football program, overseeing linemen development as well as football nutrition. Darnell was a graduate assistant of University of Louisiana Monroe where he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the baseball, volleyball and beach volleyball programs while assisting with the football program, writing programs for the quarterbacks and specialists. Darnell got his start in the profession at Murray State University, where he assisted with all Olympic sports. Darnell is certified NSCA-CSCS and USAW- Level ! Sport Performance Coach. He is also a certified CPR/AED/First Aid instructor through the American Red Cross. Darnell received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Recreation, Tourism and Sports Management at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky in May, 2013 and obtained a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Sport Management from Louisiana Monroe in August, 2015. He is originally from Mount Sterling, Kentucky.
