TeamBuildr 4.0 is here – a massive release that took more than a year of development. As with many of our past releases, the workout builder (the Calendar) was at the center of our development efforts. From day one, we always aimed to build a product that saved coaches time. This release is no different – it effectively lets a sophisticated strength coach at any level of competition as well as an entry level strength coach quickly build workouts for large teams all the way down to the individual athlete.
With this latest version, we take workout programming to the next level:
CALENDAR
- Expanded calendar to full month view (as opposed to daily view only)
- Athletes now each have their own calendar by default. This allows workout built on parent and sub-calendars trickle down to a third tier of calendars for athletes allowing customized programming down to the individual level.
- Editing an exercise on a parent calendar will allow you to swap with a new exercise. Before, coaches used to need to delete exercises rather than change the exercise.
- “Sports Science” section with custom feedback questions. Rather than use a standard template, coaches can create questions and define the unit of measurement (sleep, hydration, etc.). Coaches can also group these questions into Questionnaires for future use.
- Ability to add Video to workout. Videos have always been able to be attached to exercises, this will let coaches simply post a video to the workout unattached (think “pump up” video).
- Ability to add Session Breaks to workout (Eg: AM and PM sessions)
- Ability to add Rest Time to Workout
- “Tempo” section added for Lifts
- “Rest Time” section added for Lifts, Cardio & Circuits
- Ability to increase sets/rounds for Cardio & Circuits
- Exercise selector remembers “Additional Options” selections
- Extended copy, save & delete ranges. Before, coaches could only save and load a single day. Now, coaches can save a date range of workouts that spans as long as they’d like.
- Sub calendars show all parent calendar workouts.
- Health and Sports Science sections are separate. Health now refers to body metrics like body weight, body fat, etc.
- Added “Workout Entry” menu item (under Workout Tools) to replace eyeball icon. This feature allows coaches to “emulate” the athlete’s perspective. Many coaches do this to understand both sides before adding athletes to the program.
ATHLETE WORKOUT ENTRY
- Updated card display makes for fast workout entry and less loading time.
- Ability to swipe between exercises cards (on mobile)
- Improved History display (online workout journal)
- Shows notes that have been previously entered
- Updated Opt Out functionality
- Automatic Video pop-up on workout load (if enabled on Calendar)
EXERCISES
- Ability to save Cooldowns
- Ability to create custom Sport Science Questionnaires
- Ability to create custom Sport Science Questions
- Multiple tags can be assigned to a lift
- Ability to add any video type to an exercise using just the url
- Ability to track for: 1RM, 3RM, 5RM or Highest Weight (beta)
WEIGHT ROOM VIEW
- Filter athletes by calendar
- Entire workout now available (previously, only lifts were visible in the WRV module)
- Automatic superset switching which allows athletes to go from set to set between the supersets for streamlined session.
EVALUATIONS
- Enabled auto-save of data every 10 seconds
MAXES/PRs
- Updated history pop-ups (click exercise item to view)
- Reps can be entered when logging maxes for multiple athletes. Our formula will take multi-rep maxes and convert to 1RM if exercises is tracking for 1RM.
- Ability to “Lock” maxes. This prevents the predicted 1RM from superseding the 1RM that is locked.
- Ability to set an entry as a max (without removing other data) (Eg: predicted max too high, coach can set previous max as current 1RM.)
- Enabled auto-save of data every 10 seconds
- Ability to restart maxes without archiving historical data. Coaches will sometimes want to reset leaderboards and max rankings without deleting data. This feature allows for a reset without deleting max memory.
MANAGE CALENDARS
- Ability to hide future workouts (by week or by day). Some coaches like to only reveal workout the week of or day of.
REPORTING
- Ability to run reports on all exercise types (not only lifts)
- Added ability to select multiple calendars & sports on certain reports
BUILD PACKETS
- Updated PDF creation process
