Lions' Suh Has Awkward Encounter on Discovery's "American Muscle"
Discovery Channel's American Muscle Features Awkward Encounter Between Lions DT Ndamukong Suh and Green Bay Guard TJ Lang
If you have been watching the recent show on Discovery Channel featuring Strength and Conditioning legend Mike Barwis, you've gotten your fair share of inside tracks on some of the NFL's biggest stars. Last week, Richard Sherman expanded on the fact that he still has beef with 49ers WR Michael Crabtree (really?) and this week's episode Detroit Lions' Suh has awkward encounter with Packers' Guard TJ Lang - who was very outspoken after Suh's stomping incident. The Thanksgiving Day "stomp" left Suh with a 2-game suspension without pay in 2012 and Lang had some strong words for him back then:
"He's going to learn sooner or later that he can't play football that way in this league. He keeps playing that way, sooner or later they're going to have to make a move to show him that's not the way you play football in this league.
"When you go for a guy's head, it's personal. There's no room in the game for that. You could get a career-ending injury if somebody twists your neck the wrong way. I don't have any doubt in my mind that he was trying to hurt him."
So far, American Muscle has not let down. The show provides a ton of insight into a top level training program while also showing the lighter side of camaraderie and friendship that underlies toiling in the trenches together. The show can be seen every Wednesday night at 9 ET/8 CT.
