Some things never seem to go away, even if they happened over 2o years ago, and Mike Tyson is finding this out the hard way. As a result of tightened immigration laws, anyone who has been sentenced to four or more years of prison isn't allowed to enter the country. Even though Tyson only served three years of his sentence, he was given six years. Thus he is ineligible to enter the UK.
Tyson had planned some promotional appearances in the England but was forced to cancel. He has been traveling and talking about his new book
Undisputed Truth, which addresses his rise to fame.
It's unclear whether he will achieve clearance to the country, made even more problematic since he had planned a second trip for March of next year, but will likely have to cancel those as well. Apparently fame isn't everything when it comes to British parliament!
