Morning? Midday? Evening? When is the best time of day to workout? In this blog, we answer this question straight forward:

Q: Does the time of day matter when it comes to working out?
A: Physically, no. Studies have shown that working out at different times of the day have no difference in calories burned and that there is no physical primetime to work out during the day.
Mentally, yes. Working out a time of day in which you are mentally prepared for will yield better results.

Q: Does the frequency of what time I work out matter?
A: Yes, according to the American Heart Association, the most important aspect of working out is that you do it consistently at the same time of the day. In other words, it's best to choose a time of day and sticking with it consistently rather than randomly mixing it up.

Q: What's the consensus on late night workouts?
A: According to Doctor Sally White, dean at Lehigh University, late night exercise and eating raises your heart rate, which is not conducive to sleeping. If you already have trouble sleeping at night, maybe working out should take place earlier in the day.
What time of day do you workout? If it's early in the morning, how do you motivate yourself to get up?
