SUNY-Cortland's Post-Win Celebration Riot
Following SUNY-Cortland football team's win over rival Ithaca College, 4,000-6,000 students took the festivities a little too far. Below is a collection of Twitter and Instagram pictures from the action that took place.
There were reportedly several arrests due to severe damages that took place including flipped cars and property damage in the downtown area. However, police were reportedly forced to stop arresting rioters in order to quell the overall chaos of the riot.
And of course, the most visible side-effect of sports riots...
Later, an embarrassed SUNY-Cortland school President would issue a public apology for the events. Overall, several agencies were called in to suppress the crowd. Damages have not yet been tallied for the SUNY-Cortland riot.
